Description

Neurokinin B, a member of the substance P-related tachykinin family, was previously known to be present in the same hypothalamic neurons as kisspeptin. This protein and its receptor are critical switches of regulator of human puberty, governed by the brain through the release of the hormone GnRH (gonadotropin-releasing hormone) which starts a series of processes that ultimately leads to the production of sex hormones. Many studies suggest new approaches to the pharmacological control of human reproduction and sex hormone-related diseases
