Description
Platelet-derived growth factor receptor-β (PDGFRβ) is a well-characterized plasma membrane receptor with endogeneous tyrosine kinase activity, which is autophosphorylated in response to binding of dimeric platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) ligand. PDGFRβ mediates signaling important for the proliferation, migration, and survival of mesenchymal cells. PDGFRβ is found in all cell types and is activated in breast carcinoma cells and indicate a possible role of the receptor in breast cancerogenesis
