Description
Fatty acid binding proteins are a family of small, highly conserved, cytoplasmic proteins (14-15kDa) that bind long chain fatty acids, their CoA derivatives, billiruben, organic anions and other small hydrophobic molecules. I-FABP (or FABP-2) is found predominantly in the intestine and is believed to be involved in the intestinal absorption of long chain fatty acids. Our recombinant L-FABP comprises a 132 amino acid fragment (1-132) corresponding to the human intestinal FABP protein and is expressed in E. coli with an amino-terminal hexahistidine tag.
