The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 783 residues, a mass of 85.7 kDa, and is a member of the ZNRF3 protein family. It is known to be localized in the nucleus, ER, and cell membrane and is reported to be expressed in fetal kidney, fetal lung, in colon cancer tissues, hepatocellular carcinomas and lung adenocarcinomas. As many as 4 protein isoforms have been reported. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally ubiquitinated and glycosylated. The RNF43 gene has been associated with the disease, Sessile serrated polyposis cancer syndrome. Other alias names for this target include SSPCS, URCC, E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase RNF43, RING-type E3 ubiquitin transferase RNF43, and RNF124.
