These XIP ELISA kits are immunodetection tools for measuring the levels of XIP in biological samples. XIP is an alias of the human LAMTOR5 gene, which encodes the protein, late endosomal/lysosomal adaptor, MAPK and MTOR activator 5. Notably, XIP is known to play a role in the regulation of apoptosis and the regulation of gene expression, among other functions. The LAMTOR5 protein is described to be 91 amino acid residues in length and 9.6 kilodaltons in mass. It is localized to the lysosomes and cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue specificity, it is reported to be highly expressed in skeletal and cardiac muscle, followed by pancreas, kidney, liver, brain, placenta and lung. Other names for this target antigen include HBXIP and ragulator complex protein LAMTOR5.
