Structurally, the APTX protein is 356 amino acid residues in length and 40.7 kilodaltons in mass. However, as many as 13 protein isoforms have been identified. It is localized to the nucleus of the cell. In terms of tissue specificity, it is reported to be widely expressed, detected in liver, kidney and lymph node.
