ALOX12 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein arachidonate 12-lipoxygenase, 12S type, which is encoded by the ALOX12 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is known to catalyze the regio and stereo-specific incorporation of molecular oxygen into free and esterified polyunsaturated fatty acids generating lipid hydroperoxides that can be further reduced to the corresponding hydroxy species. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 663 residues, a mass of 75.7 kDa, and is a member of the Lipoxygenase protein family. It is known to be localized in the cytoplasm and is reported to be expressed in vascular smooth muscle cells. The ALOX12 gene has been associated with the disease, Esophageal cancer. Other alias names for this target include 12S-LOX, LOG12, polyunsaturated fatty acid lipoxygenase ALOX12, 12S-lipoxygenase, arachidonate (12S)-lipoxygenase, and 12-LOX.
The detection range for different ALOX12 ELISA kits can vary, with some assays measuring target concentrations as low as 62.5 pg/mL and as high as 80 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
