These MLC ELISA kits are immunodetection tools for measuring the levels of MLC in biological samples. MLC is an alias of the human MLC1 gene, which encodes the protein, modulator of VRAC current 1. Notably, MLC is known to play a role in cholesterol metabolism and homeostasis and the transport of ions, among other functions. The MLC1 protein is 377 amino acid residues in length and 41.1 kilodaltons in mass. However, as many as 2 protein isoforms have been identified. It is localized to the cell membrane, ER, and cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue specificity, it is reported to be expressed in the brain, with highest levels found in the amygdala, nucleus caudatus, thalamus and hippocampus. Other names for this target antigen include LVM and VL. Click on the following ELISA kits for more detailed information, including target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
