Structurally, the ACVR1 protein is described to be 509 amino acid residues in length and 57.2 kilodaltons in mass. It is localized to the membrane of the cell. In terms of tissue specificity, it is reported to be expressed in normal parenchymal cells, endothelial cells, fibroblasts and tumor-derived epithelial cells. This protein is known to be glycosylated. Other names for this target antigen include ACTRI, ACVR1A, and ACVRLK2.
