These Car4 ELISA kits are immunodetection tools for measuring the levels of Car4 in biological samples. Car4 is an alias of the human CA4 gene, which encodes the protein, carbonic anhydrase 4. The protein is known to catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide into bicarbonate and protons and thus is essential to maintaining intracellular and extracellular pH. The CA4 protein is 312 amino acid residues in length and 35 kilodaltons in mass. However, as many as 2 protein isoforms have been identified. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell. In terms of tissue specificity, it is reported to be expressed in the endothelium of the choriocapillaris in eyes. Other names for this target antigen include CAIV and RP17.
The detection range for different Car4 ELISA kits can vary, with some assays measuring target concentrations as low as 78 pg/mL and as high as 50 ng/mL. Click on the following ELISA kits for more detailed information, including target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
