Cardiolipin ELISA kits are assays designed to detect the phospholipid cardiolipin, which is present in the inner mitochondrial membrane of mammals. It contains two groups of phosphatidic acid linked by glycerol. Most cardiolipins have four linoleic acid groups. It plays an important role in the electron transport chain as an activator of many enzymes, particularly complex 1, 3 and 4. It interacts with cytochrome c to maintain mitochondrial integrity and trigger apoptosis as required. Visit the supplier page for more information about detection range and reactivity.
