Functionally, this protein is reported to be an auxiliary protein of the large-conductance, voltage and calcium-activated potassium channel (BK alpha). The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid sequence of 294 residues and a mass of 32.1 kDa. It is known to be localized in the cell membrane and is reported to be mainly expressed in adrenal gland, thymus and skeletal muscle.
