These NGAL ELISA kits are immunodetection tools for measuring the levels of NGAL in biological samples. NGAL is an alias of the human LCN2 gene, which encodes the protein, lipocalin 2. Notably, NGAL is known to play a role in the apoptotic pathway and innate immune responses, among other functions. The LCN2 protein is 198 amino acid residues in length and 22.6 kilodaltons in mass. However, as many as 2 protein isoforms have been identified. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasmic vesicles, cytoplasm, and is secreted. In terms of tissue specificity, it is notably expressed in neutrophils. This protein is known to be glycosylated. Other names for this target antigen include 24p3 and MSFI.
There are NGAL ELISA kits that can detect a target at concentrations as low as 4 pg/mL and as high as 1000 ng/mL. Click on the following ELISA kits for more detailed information, including target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
