The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 1101 residues, a mass of 128.8 kDa, and is a member of the SMC protein family. It is known to be localized in the nucleus and is widely expressed across many tissue types. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally ubiquitinated and sumoylated.
