MC5R ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein melanocortin 5 receptor, which is encoded by the MC5R gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is a known receptor for MSH (alpha, beta and gamma) and ACTH. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 325 residues, a mass of 36.6 kDa, and is a member of the G-protein coupled receptor 1 protein family. It is known to be localized in the cell membrane and is reported to be expressed in the brain but not in the melanoma cells. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally glycosylated. Other alias names for this target include MC2 and melanocortin receptor 5.
The detection range for different MC5R ELISA kits can vary, with some assays measuring target concentrations as low as 13.7 pg/mL and as high as 100 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
