LCT ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein lactase, which is encoded by the LCT gene in humans. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 1927 residues, a mass of 218.6 kDa, and is a member of the Glycosyl hydrolase 1 protein family. It is known to be localized in the cell membrane and is notably expressed in small intestine. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally N-glycosylated. The LCT gene has been associated with the disease, Congenital lactase deficiency.
