The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid sequence of 1045 residues and a mass of 119.2 kDa. It is known to be localized in the nucleus. As many as 2 protein isoforms have been reported. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally ubiquitinated, sumoylated and phosphorylated. The TOPORS gene has been associated with the disease, Retinitis pigmentosa.
