SPHK1 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein sphingosine kinase 1, which is encoded by the SPHK1 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is known to catalyze the phosphorylation of sphingosine to form sphingosine 1-phosphate (SPP), a lipid mediator with both intra- and extracellular functions. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid sequence of 384 residues and a mass of 42.5 kDa. It is known to be localized in the cell membrane, nucleus, and cytoplasm and is reported to be widely expressed with highest levels in adult liver, kidney, heart and skeletal muscle. As many as 3 protein isoforms have been reported. Other alias names for this target include SK 1, SPK 1, acetyltransferase SPHK1, and SPHK.
There are SPHK1 ELISA kits that can detect a target at concentrations as low as 15.6 pg/mL and as high as 40 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
