CA4 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein carbonic anhydrase 4, which is encoded by the CA4 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is known to catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide into bicarbonate and protons and thus is essential to maintaining intracellular and extracellular pH. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 312 residues, a mass of 35 kDa, and is a member of the Alpha-carbonic anhydrase protein family. It is known to be localized in the cell membrane and is reported to be expressed in the endothelium of the choriocapillaris in eyes. As many as 2 protein isoforms have been reported. The CA4 gene has been associated with the disease, Retinitis pigmentosa. Other alias names for this target include Car4, RP17, CA-IV, carbonate dehydratase IV, carbonic anhydrase IV, carbonic dehydratase IV, and CAIV.
The detection range for different CA4 ELISA kits can vary, with some assays measuring target concentrations as low as 39.063 pg/mL and as high as 60 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
