TAS2R46 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein taste 2 receptor member 46, which is encoded by the TAS2R46 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is a known receptor that may play a role in the perception of bitterness and is gustducin-linked. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 309 residues, a mass of 35.5 kDa, and is a member of the G-protein coupled receptor T2R protein family. It is known to be localized in the membrane and is reported to be expressed in subsets of taste receptor cells of the tongue and exclusively in gustducin-positive cells. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally glycosylated.
