SOST ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein sclerostin, which is encoded by the SOST gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is a reported regulator of bone growth that acts through inhibition of Wnt signaling and bone formation. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 213 residues, a mass of 24 kDa, and is a member of the Sclerostin protein family. It is known to be localized in the extracellular matrix and is secreted and is found to be widely expressed at low levels with highest levels in bone, cartilage, kidney, liver, bone marrow and primary osteoblasts differentiated for 21 days. As many as 2 protein isoforms have been reported. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally glycosylated. The SOST gene has been associated with the disease, Sclerosteosis. Other alias names for this target include DAND6, SOST1, VBCH, and CDD.
There are SOST ELISA kits that can detect a target at concentrations as low as 6.25 pg/mL and as high as 200 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
