AIM2 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein absent in melanoma 2, which is encoded by the AIM2 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is reported to be a sensor component of the AIM2 inflammasome, which mediates inflammasome activation in response to the presence of double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) in the cytosol, leading to subsequent pyroptosis. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 343 residues, a mass of 39 kDa, and is a member of the HIN-200 protein family. It is known to be localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm and is reported to be expressed in spleen, small intestine, peripheral blood leukocytes, and testis. Other alias names for this target include PYHIN4 and interferon-inducible protein AIM2.
The detection range for different AIM2 ELISA kits can vary, with some assays measuring target concentrations as low as 31.25 pg/mL and as high as 80 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
