PRPH ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein peripherin, which is encoded by the PRPH gene in humans. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 470 residues, a mass of 53.7 kDa, and is a member of the Intermediate filament protein family. It is known to be localized in the cytoplasm and is reported to be expressed in the neurons of the outer hair cells in the organ of Corti and to a lesser extent in type I spiral ganglion cells. As many as 2 protein isoforms have been reported. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally phosphorylated. The PRPH gene has been associated with the disease, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Other alias names for this target include PRPH1, neurofilament 4 (57kD), and NEF4.
The detection range for different PRPH ELISA kits can vary, with some assays measuring target concentrations as low as 78.1 pg/mL and as high as 50 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
