POSTN ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein periostin, which is encoded by the POSTN gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is known to be involved in cell adhesion and extracellular matrix organization. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid sequence of 836 residues and a mass of 93.3 kDa. It is known to be localized in the golgi, extracellular matrix, and is secreted and is reported to be widely expressed with highest levels in aorta, stomach, lower gastrointestinal tract, placenta, uterus, thyroid tissue and breast. As many as 7 protein isoforms have been reported. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally glycosylated. Other alias names for this target include OSF2, PDLPOSTN, PN, osteoblast specific factor 2 (fasciclin I-like), periodontal ligament-specific periostin, and OSF-2.
Some POSTN ELISA kits can detect targets at levels as low as 31.2 pg/mL and as high as 2000 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
