GHR ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein growth hormone receptor, which is encoded by the GHR gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is a known receptor for pituitary gland growth hormone involved in regulating postnatal body growth. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 638 residues, a mass of 71.5 kDa, and is a member of the Type I cytokine receptor protein family. It is known to be localized in the cell membrane and is reported to be expressed in various tissues with high expression in liver and skeletal muscle. As many as 4 protein isoforms have been reported. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally glycosylated, ubiquitinated, cleaved and phosphorylated. The GHR gene has been associated with the disease, Laron syndrome. Other alias names for this target include GHIP, GH receptor, growth hormone binding protein, mutant growth hormone receptor, serum binding protein, and GHBP.
Some GHR ELISA kits can detect targets at levels as low as 12 pg/mL and as high as 100 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
