It is known to be localized in the cell membrane and is reported to be expressed in the brain, kidney, testis, placenta, uterus, ovary, adrenal, prostate, skin and heart. As many as 5 protein isoforms have been reported. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally glycosylated.
