SPHK2 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein sphingosine kinase 2, which is encoded by the SPHK2 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is known to catalyze the phosphorylation of sphingosine to form sphingosine-1-phosphate (SPP), a lipid mediator with both intra- and extracellular functions. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid sequence of 654 residues and a mass of 69.2 kDa. It is known to be localized in the nucleus, mitochondria, ER, and cytoplasm and is reported to be mainly expressed in adult kidney, liver, and brain. As many as 5 protein isoforms have been reported. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally cleaved and phosphorylated.
The detection range for different SPHK2 ELISA kits can vary, with some assays measuring target concentrations as low as 31.25 pg/mL and as high as 5 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
