Anti-THOC1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein THO complex subunit 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 657 amino acid residues and a mass of 75.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. THOC1 is known to be required for efficient export of polyadenylated RNA. Post-translational modifications have been described, including ubiquitination. Synonyms for this target antigen include HPR1, P84, P84N5, THO complex 1, hTREX84, nuclear matrix protein p84, tho1, and DFNA86. THOC1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Over 220 citations in the literature describe the use of THOC1 antibodies in research. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
