Anti-SLC30A6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein solute carrier family 30 member 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 461 amino acid residues and a mass of 51.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the Golgi. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in the brain; especially in cerebellum, hippocampus, parahippocampal gyrus, superior and middle temporal gyrus. A member of the Cation diffusion facilitator (CDF) transporter (TC 2.A.4) protein family, SLC30A6 is known to have probably no intrinsic transporter activity but together with SLC30A5 forms a functional zinc ion:proton antiporter heterodimer, mediating zinc entry into the lumen of organelles along the secretory pathway. Synonyms for this target antigen include zinc transporter 6 and solute carrier family 30 (zinc transporter), member 6. A number of SLC30A6 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
