Anti-ZBP antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the ZBP antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ZP4 gene, which encodes zona pellucida glycoprotein 4. This protein is a known component of the zona pellucida, an extracellular matrix surrounding oocytes which mediates sperm binding, induction of the acrosome reaction and prevents post-fertilization polyspermy. The human version of ZBP has a canonical amino acid length of 540 residues and a protein mass of 59.4 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane of cells and notably expressed in the ovary. ZBP is a member of the ZP domain protein family. Indicated applications for ZBP antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
