Anti-spoT antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the spoT antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the THEMIS gene, which encodes thymocyte selection associated. This protein is known to function in adaptive immune responses, among other biological roles. The human version of spoT has a canonical amino acid length of 641 residues and a protein mass of 73.5 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in the spleen, rectum, lymph node, duodenum, and colon. spoT is a member of the Themis protein family. ELISA and Western Blot are common applications for spoT antibodies.
