Anti-PNMA family member 5 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the PNMA5 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 448 amino acid residues and a mass of 49.9 kDa. It is reported to be expressed in the brain. A member of the PNMA protein family, it is known to be involved with the regulation of apoptosis. Other names for this target antigen include paraneoplastic Ma antigen family member 5, tumor antigen BJ-HCC-25, and paraneoplastic antigen-like protein 5. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. Some PNMA family member 5 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. ELISA and Western Blot are common applications for these antibodies.
