Anti-P3H1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein prolyl 3-hydroxylase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 736 amino acid residues and a mass of 83.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the extracellular matrix and ER. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Leprecan protein family, P3H1 is known to be involved with bone development and the regulation of cell proliferation. Post-translational modifications have been described, including O-glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include leprecan, leucine proline-enriched proteoglycan (leprecan) 1, leucine- and proline-enriched proteoglycan 1, procollagen-proline 3-dioxygenase, and growth suppressor 1. P3H1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some P3H1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
