Anti-NDUFAF6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase complex assembly factor 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 333 amino acid residues and a mass of 38.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is widely expressed across many tissue types. A member of the NDUFAF6 protein family, NDUFAF6 is reported to be involved in assembly of mitochondrial NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase complex (complex I) at early stages. The NDUFAF6 gene has been associated with the disease, Mitochondrial complex I deficiency. Synonyms for this target antigen include UPF0551 protein C8orf38, mitochondrial, putative phytoene synthase, and NADH dehydrogenase (ubiquinone) complex I, assembly factor 6. NDUFAF6 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some NDUFAF6 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Immunocytochemistry is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
