Anti-Mglap antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Mglap antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the MGP gene, which encodes matrix Gla protein. This protein is known to function in cell differentiation, among other biological roles. The human version of Mglap has a canonical amino acid length of 103 residues and a protein mass of 12.4 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be a secreted protein that is notably expressed in soft tissue, prostate, and cartilage. This target antigen may also be known as GIG36. Immunohistochemistry is the most common application for the Mglap antibodies listed below. ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunocytochemistry are also common applications.
