Anti-MEA6 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target MEA6 is a known alias name of the protein MIA SH3 domain ER export factor 2, encoded by the MIA2 gene in humans. This 1412-amino acid residue protein is reported to play a role in the transport of cargos that are too large to fit into COPII-coated vesicles and require specific mechanisms to be incorporated into membrane-bound carriers and exported from the endoplasmic reticulum. It is localized to the ER of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be highly expressed in the liver and weakly in testis. Other synonyms for MEA6 include CTAGE5 and MGEA. Indicated applications for MEA6 antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
