Anti-HAO antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the HAO antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the HAAO gene, which encodes 3-hydroxyanthranilate 3,4-dioxygenase. This protein is known to function in metabolic processes, among other biological roles. The human version of HAO has a canonical amino acid length of 286 residues and a protein mass of 32.6 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in the placenta, liver, and kidney. This target antigen may also be known as 3-HAO. Indicated applications for HAO antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry.
