Anti-M6P/IGF2R antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target M6P/IGF2R is a known alias name of the protein insulin like growth factor 2 receptor, encoded by the IGF2R gene in humans. This 2491-amino acid residue protein is known to mediate the transport of phosphorylated lysosomal enzymes from the Golgi complex and the cell surface to lysosomes. It is localized to the cytoplasmic vesicles and Golgi of the cell and features palmitoylated and glycosylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for M6P/IGF2R include CD222, CI-M6PR, and CIMPR.
