Anti-MATER antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target MATER is a known alias name of the protein NLR family pyrin domain containing 5, encoded by the NLRP5 gene in humans. This 1200-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in exocytosis, among other biological processes. It is localized to the nucleus, cytoplasmic vesicles, mitochondria, Golgi, and cytoplasm of the cell and features phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in cumulus cells. Indicated applications for MATER antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry.
