Anti-COQ1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the COQ1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PDSS1 gene, which encodes decaprenyl diphosphate synthase subunit 1. This protein is reported to be a heterotetrameric enzyme that catalyzes the condensation of farnesyl diphosphate (FPP), which acts as a primer, and isopentenyl diphosphate (IPP) to produce prenyl diphosphates of varying chain lengths and participates in the determination of the side chain of ubiquinone. The human version of COQ1 has a canonical amino acid length of 415 residues and a protein mass of 46.3 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria of cells. This target antigen may also be known as COQ10D2. Indicated applications for COQ1 antibodies listed below include ELISA and Western Blot.
