Anti-TX antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target TX is a known alias name of the protein caspase 4, encoded by the CASP4 gene in humans. This 377-amino acid residue protein is reported to be an inflammatory caspase that acts as the effector of the non-canonical inflammasome by mediating lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced pyroptosis. It is localized to the membrane, mitochondria, ER, cytoplasm, and is secreted of the cell and features cleaved post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be widely expressed including in keratinocytes and colonic and small intestinal epithelial cells. Other synonyms for TX include ICE(rel)II, ICEREL-II, and ICH-2. Some TX antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
