Anti-p185 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target p185 is a known alias name of the protein eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 subunit A, encoded by the EIF3A gene in humans. This 1382-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a RNA-binding component of the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 (eIF-3) complex, which is required for several steps in the initiation of protein synthesis. It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell and features phosphorylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for p185 include EIF3, EIF3, and EIF3S10. Indicated applications for p185 antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunohistochemistry.
