Anti-SSADH antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the SSADH antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ALDH5A1 gene, which encodes aldehyde dehydrogenase 5 family member A1. This protein is known to function in nervous system development and post-embryonic development, among other biological roles. The human version of SSADH has a canonical amino acid length of 535 residues and a protein mass of 57.2 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. SSADH is a member of the Aldehyde dehydrogenase protein family. Western Blot is the most common application for the SSADH antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
