Anti-NSE4A antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the NSE4A antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the NSMCE4A gene, which encodes NSE4 homolog A, SMC5-SMC6 complex component. This protein is known to function in DNA damage pathways and DNA repair, among other biological roles. The human version of NSE4A has a canonical amino acid length of 385 residues and a protein mass of 44.3 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include C10orf86 and NS4EA.
