Anti-PTK6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein protein tyrosine kinase 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 451 amino acid residues and a mass of 51.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to have epithelia-specific expression. A member of the Tyr protein kinase protein family, PTK6 is known to be involved with cell differentiation and cell migration. Post-translational modifications have been described, including phosphorylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include PTK6 protein tyrosine kinase 6, breast tumor kinase, protein-tyrosine kinase BRK, tyrosine-protein kinase BRK, and BRK. PTK6 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, zebrafish and chimpanzee species. A number of PTK6 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
