Anti-MGL antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The MGL antigen is another term for the human protein monoglyceride lipase, encoded by the MGLL gene. The protein is known to function in inflammatory response pathways and the metabolism of lipids, among other biological roles. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 303 residues and a mass of 33.3 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane and cytoplasm and it is notably expressed in adipose tissue, lung, liver, kidney, brain and heart. The MGL protein is a member of the Monoacylglycerol lipase protein family.
