Anti-PDLIM3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein PDZ and LIM domain 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 364 amino acid residues and a mass of 39.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the smooth muscle, skeletal muscle, and cerebellum. PDLIM3 is believed to play a role in the organization of actin filament arrays within muscle cells. Synonyms for this target antigen include PDZ and LIM domain protein 3, alpha-actinin-2-associated LIM protein, enigma homolog, and ALP. PDLIM3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Over 60 citations in the literature describe the use of PDLIM3 antibodies in research. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunofluorescence is also a common application.
