Anti-PGAM1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein phosphoglycerate mutase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 254 amino acid residues and a mass of 28.8 kDa. It is reported to be expressed in the liver and brain. A member of the Phosphoglycerate mutase protein family, PGAM1 is known to catalyze the interconversion of 2-phosphoglycerate and 3-phosphoglyceratea crucial step in glycolysis, by using 2,3-bisphosphoglycerate. Post-translational modifications have been described, including acetylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include PGAM-B, PGAMA, BPG-dependent PGAM 1, epididymis secretory protein Li 35, phosphoglycerate mutase 1 (brain), and HEL-S-35. PGAM1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of PGAM1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
