Anti-PLP antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PLP is a known alias name of the protein parathyroid hormone like hormone, encoded by the PTHLH gene in humans. This 177-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a neuroendocrine peptide, which is a critical regulator of cellular and organ growth, development, migration, differentiation and survival and of epithelial calcium ion transport. It is localized to the nucleus, cytoplasm, and is secreted of the cell and features cleaved post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types.
