Anti-4.1R antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the 4.1R antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the EPB41 gene, which encodes erythrocyte membrane protein band 4.1. This protein is known to function in cytoskeleton organization and the cell cycle, among other biological roles. The human version of 4.1R has a canonical amino acid length of 864 residues and a protein mass of 97 kilodaltons, although 7 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm of cells. Other names for this target antigen include EL1 and HE. Western Blot is the most common application for the 4.1R antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
